Scope

Services encompass repairs and renovation.  Whether minor or extensive, effective repairs prolong the life of furniture in the short and long term. 

Renovation takes many forms anywhere from freshning up through cleaning and polishing to extensive work.  Extensive renovation may include repair, replacement of missing hardware, cleaning and polishing.  Essentially, service just shy of complete restoration.

Currently repair and renovation services offered are primarily limited to furniture and miscellaneous household goods from Japan, China and the Philippines.  Other work is taken in on a case-by-case basis.

Where services are provided

Minor repairs and renovation may at times be performed at the client's home.  An initial visit or phone call can establish the nature and extent of the work required.  Any repair work requiring extensive repair or renovation (for example, if lacquering or use of large power equipment is necessary) must be performed in the shop.  Pick up and delivery of the furniture must be arranged and scheduled in advance. 

Work is accepted from retail clients, interior designers, architects and the construction trade.

Charges for services

Initial consultation by phone or email is at no charge.  If a consultation is required at the client's home, a $50 call fee is required and is deducted from the cost of the repair or renovation if the work is approved.

Shop charges are assessed at cost of labor, $100/per hour, plus materials. 

Pick up and delivery can be arranged by Rom Lee Designs (or, if preferred, by the client).  Charges for pick up and delivery are borne by the client.
